product that provides access to a database of information on waste
sites in the United States and Canada where bioremediation
is being tested or implemented, or has been completed.
Carl UnCover
- UnCover is a database of current article information taken from
well over 18,000 multidisciplinary journals. UnCover contains brief
descriptive information for over 8,800,000 articles which have appeared
since Fall 1988. UnCover offers you the opportunity to order fax
copies of the articles from this database. UnCover is easy to use,
with keyword access to article titles and summaries.
DOE
R&D Project Summaries Access to over 17,000 R&D projects currently
ongoing within the Department of Energy can be found within this
application. Projects pertaining to Departmental activities in Science,
Fossil Energy, Environmental Management, and Energy Efficiency and
Renewable Energy, are just some of the R&D disciplines found in
the database. This application was developed by the Office
of Scientific & Technical Information as a means for DOE to
educate and inform the general public of its R&D activities.

Data Warehouse and Applications

CERCLIS Database - The Superfund Query Form allows you to
retrieve data from the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation,
and Liability Information System (CERCLIS) database in Envirofacts.
Specify a facility by using any combination of facility name and
geographic location. You may also select an output option. Additional
Superfund Site information may be obtained through EPA's
Superfund web site. Their query
pages provide an alternative method for retrieving Superfund
Site information.
USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service

Database - The PLANTS Database is a single source of standardized
information about plants. This database focuses on vascular plants,
mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens of the U.S. and its
territories. The PLANTS Database includes names, checklists, automated
tools, identification information, species abstracts, distributional
data, crop information, plant symbols, plant growth data, plant
materials information, plant links, references, and other plant
information.

System (ESIS) is the repository for the data associated with the
collection of forestland and rangeland plot data and the development
of ecological site descriptions. ESIS is organized into two applications

The International
Plant Names Index The International Plant Names Index (IPNI)
is a database of the names and associated basic bibliographical
details of all seed plants. Its goal is to eliminate the need for
repeated reference to primary sources for basic bibliographic information
about plant names. The data are freely available and are gradually
being standardized and checked. IPNI will be a dynamic resource,
depending on direct contributions by all members of the botanical
community.
Material
Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)- A database provided by Cornell
University containing thousands of chemicals. Provides information
on chemical incompatibilities, health risks, control measures, and
other relevant information.
National Soil Survey Center National
Soil Data Access Facility - The databases in the NSDAF
include the national MUIR, OSD, SC, and soil characterization databases.
West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Technical
