Electric-blue, purple and green, the water that drips from the walls and ceilings in the Richmond Mine near Redding, CA, is so acidic that it once dissolved a steel shovel left overnight in a puddle. The most acidic water ever found on Earth contaminates the Richmond Mine. Highly acidic water leaking from mines across the West has killed countless fish, birds and other wildlife. Disturbed Ecology
