Environmental Impacts of Mining
The following sections describe the potential environmental impacts
that can occur due to mining activities. Today, many of these environmental
impacts are minimized as a result of well-designed, well-operated,
and well-regulated mining operations. Although this is the case,

that continue to adversely affect the environment.
